Pteleos is the source of the Pi Olive Oil Company olive oil and why it’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil has such a fantastic clear distinct flavour while retailing all the trace elements that give this oil its health properties.
Farmed and harvested by traditional methods, the olives are cold pressed, that is, the oil is extracted from the Olive purely by pressure, without the use of high temperature or chemicals. In the same way it has been done for thousands of years. Pressed within hours of picking, the oil is allowed to settle for a month, then the high quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil is siphoned off, not filtered, so that the Oil retains all its natural goodness and original taste. This means all of the oil is pure, no additives or mixed with other oils and can be traced back to its original olive grove from around the village of Pteleos
How to use it
Ideal as a dressing for salads, with vegetable soups, drizzled over fish or steamed vegetables, or even simply used for dipping bread, but feel free to explore the taste with different ingredients to find your favourite. It’s intense but balanced, fruity with a hint of spiciness, artichoke, dill, hay and fennel.
